What is a Techno Metal Post?

In practical terms, the Techno Metal Post is a big metal screw with one or multiples threads (helices) which is anchored into the ground using specialized hydraulic equipment.

The Techno Metal Post consists of a central shaft unto which a circular helical steel blade is welded at the bottom.

The central shaft is a steel pipe which has a diameter varying from 48 mm to 152 mm, and a wall thickness from 3,68 to 5,74 mm.

The blades are constructed as a helix with a carefully controlled pitch. The helix blades are available in diameters of 150 mm to 600 mm. Those blades are what constitute the basis of the posts.

At Techno Metal Post, that blade which we manufacture is called a "helix".

The diameter and number of these blades are chosen based on 2 parameters :

The bearing capacity of the soil, such as its nature and compactness;
The load of the structure it is designed to support.

The Installation

Whatever the location in the world, all Techno Metal Post are put in by a certified installer, who has received technical and practical training by the Techno Metal Post Company.

Usually, the Techno Metal Posts are screwed into the ground at a minimum depth of 1,83 m (6’). This is accomplished by our specialized mechanized equipment, the R2D-Post.

In every instance where ground undulation is possible, our Techno Sheath is inserted simultaneously with the Techno Metal Post. This polyethylene sheath was invented by us to act as a frost sleeve to isolate the pile and keep it from being subject to annual frost heave or drought in the surrounding soil.
